La Cerdanya is where we live when we are in Catalunya. It is basically the Catalan Lake District. The mountains are imposing, the air clear and the light has a very special quality loved by artists.

Our life revolves around the villages between Puigcerda to the east in Baixa Cerdanya and La Seu d’Urgell to the west in Alt Urgell.

The main leisure activities here are linked to the mountains and the air – skiing (both nordic and alpine), walking, trekking, horse riding, mountaineering, gliding, ballooning, kayaking, fishing and the rest of it.

The cuisine is totally fresh, usually organic and delicious. Our neighbours are mostly farmers and they all have top quality palates. So the restaurants have to keep their game raised.

The Cerdanya has something for everyone, all year round. In fact it is worth going to the same places in each season just to see what’s new…
